Developer Q&A - Hot Topic Q&A (August)

Hello everyone! Welcome once again to Developer Q&A!

In this Developer Q&A, we’ll be taking a look at some of the topics that have sparked the most discussion in the community. Thank you to everyone who reached out to us! We hope to answer some of your hottest questions.

Once again, if you have any comments or questions about what we discussed today, please don’t hesitate to speak up in the Community. Your feedback is invaluable as we adjust our plans for the future.

---------------------------------------

H1: The new version of Crystal Technology is an improvement, but it makes defeating garrisons extremely difficult and disrupts the pace of battles. We suggest improving attack attributes.

A1: We’re making several balance adjustments, such as fine-tuning the Glorious Past buff and some of the attack advantages provided by Crystal Technology. Based on the battle data we’ve collected from each phase, we’re also designing asymmetric buffs for rallies and garrisons to help prevent stalemates.

---------------------------------------

Q2: Please add a browser-based map planning tool that allows kingdom leaders to draw, download, and share KvK maps before KvK begins. This would make battle planning much easier.

A2: We’re developing several kingdom management tools, including kingdom/governor searches, kingdom charts, voice chat, and a greater variety of map icons. We also plan to add map planning tools at a later time.

---------------------------------------

Q3: Why was the kingdom formation feature removed after the Pioneer Test?

A3: The formation rules in the Pioneer Test were balanced around the Divine Inheritance story. Based on the feedback we received, we found that these rules were not particularly well suited to four-camp stories such as Heroic Anthem. We have temporarily taken the feature offline while we make adjustments.

---------------------------------------

Q4: The KvK matchmaking system needs improvement. There are situations where the matchmaking algorithm is unclear and the factions have severe stat imbalances.

A4: We’re sorry that you had a poor experience with the KvK matchmaking system. We have several changes planned to address matchmaking balance issues:

1) In the near future, we will launch a “Kingdom Information” tool to give you a more objective assessment of a kingdom’s actual strength. We will continue expanding this tool with new features in the future, such as power charts for kingdoms and territories, and we welcome your feedback.

2) We will relaunch the Pioneer Test for kingdom formations as soon as possible, which should help reduce unsuitable camp pairings.

---------------------------------------

Q5: Please release more historically inspired and realistic city themes in the future.

A5: History has always been at the heart of RoK, so rest assured that we plan to release many more realistic and historical city themes.

---------------------------------------

Q6: Please adjust the Zenith of Power event. Awarding city themes based on rankings encourages people to hoard resources to increase their power instead of fighting. Moreover, those who don’t rank in the top 10 receive no city theme and are even mocked!

A6: We’re planning to add a new exchange currency to ensure that all governors have a chance to obtain the event’s city theme. Here’s how it will work:

1) During Zenith of Power, you will be able to earn the new currency by increasing your power.

2) Once the rankings are finalized, you will be able to use this currency to exchange for the current Zenith of Power city theme, its theme effect, and other items in the event shop.

3) Governors in the top 10 will still receive the event city theme, but the top 3 will no longer receive the event theme effect. Instead, the theme effect will be available in the event shop.

4) There will be a limit on how much of this currency you can earn in each event. Any unused currency will be lost when the event ends.

---------------------------------------

Q7: Please release more unique decorative items. I want to be able to stand out from other players.

A7: We’re working on several ways to improve customization options:

1) New Legendary city themes will be available for exchange in the Season Shop.

2) We plan to add a new “RoK Level” system that can be increased by purchasing packs. Increasing your level will allow your character to receive and upgrade exclusive decorative items. These decorative items will not be permanent, but they can be renewed by meeting certain conditions.

3) A new paid customization feature will unlock upon reaching the highest RoK Level, allowing you to create a new and exclusive city theme based on an existing theme.

---------------------------------------

Q8: The use of pilots is now far too widespread, making it impossible for kingdoms without pilots to keep up. We think the publisher needs to consider improving this issue.

A8: We are committed to providing governors with a fair and balanced playing field. We are currently evaluating the impact of pilot use on the competitive landscape between wars and developing a plan to address the issue. Once the plan is finalized, we will share the details with the community through a future Developer Q&A and other announcements.

---------------------------------------

Q9: The attack march feature is better than it used to be, but it still needs further improvement.

A9: We have additional improvements planned for attack marches. These include improving the feature’s core logic and adding customization options to further reduce the need to manage every minor detail manually.

---------------------------------------

Q10: Please make regular events less tedious. Some events currently take far too long to complete.

A10: We’ve made several adjustments to events such as Lost Kingdom, and we’re looking for ways to improve the pacing of events like Karuak Ceremony and Army Training. We welcome any additional feedback from governors.

---------------------------------------

That concludes the entire Developer Q&A. If you have any thoughts on the content above or anything else in the game, we welcome your feedback through customer support or by posting in the community. We will continue collecting governors’ opinions to optimize the game.

Thank you for supporting Rise of Kingdoms, Governor. Have fun playing!
