Rise of Kingdoms（RoK）has always kept its player community engaged with noteworthy updates. In November 2024, the publisher held a developer Q&A to answer players’ questions and reveal several exciting new features. Here are the key details you won’t want to miss.

1. Commander Reset Feature: Coming Soon

One of the most anticipated features is the ability to reset commandersallowing players to transfer skills, levels, and star ratings between commanders.

How it works: Each governor will receive two commander transfer items at a certain cost. These items allow you to transfer a commander A’s entire level, skills, and star rating to commander B.
Release schedule: It is expected to arrive in the January 2025 update for kingdoms that have entered Season 2 or Season 3.
Benefits: This feature will help optimize resources, especially for older commanders or when players want to change their strategy.

It is a great opportunity to reinvest in newer, stronger commanders that are better suited to the Conquest seasons.

2. Purple Construction Commander: A New Solution for New Players

The game is about to introduce a ranged Epic commander (purple) to help players experience this playstyle at a lower cost.

How to obtain it: This commander will appear in Gold and Silver Chests at the Tavern starting with Update 1.08 (mid-December 2024).
Significance: For new players, this is an opportunity to try out ranged gameplay before investing in expensive Legendary commanders.

This is a strategic move that will help new players integrate and progress more easily without requiring too many resources.

3. Increased Kingdom Power Requirements and New Immigration Rules

To maintain balance and competitiveness among kingdoms, the publisher has introduced several changes to the kingdom power threshold and immigration rules:

Kingdom power threshold:
International: 23 billion power.
China: 24 billion power.
If a kingdom’s power is below this threshold, immigration will not be restricted.
KVK1 immigration rules:
In Version 1.08, accounts with less than 10 million power will not be able to immigrate to KVK1.
This is intended to prevent players from abusing the immigration feature to gain an unfair advantage.

This change will have a major impact on players’ strategies for moving between kingdoms, particularly for accounts that are being intentionally kept inactive for later use.

4. Armament Conversion: Flexible and Cost-Effective

A new feature allowing players to switch between different armament types will be released in January 2025.

How it works: Players can use materials to convert one armament type into another—for example, changing from the Triangle formation to the Northern formation.
Inscriptions: Special inscriptions will be adjusted to fit the new armament, but it is not yet clear whether the armament’s stats will be retained.
Resource sources: The required items can be obtained through the VIP technology tree, events, or in-game purchase bundles.

This will allow players to adjust their strategies more easily without having to start over from scratch.

5. Other Noteworthy Features

Gen 10 Commander System

Gen 10 commanders will begin releasing in 2025.
The new commanders will focus on gameplay variety, with the goal of combining old and new commanders to maximize long-term value.

Map Improvements

The original Kingdom map and Conquest Seasons 1–3 maps will receive graphical improvements.
Players will be able to choose between the old and new graphics, providing a more flexible experience.
