Overview:

Flame God Zhou Yu is the first UR strategist hero and currently has the strongest all-map damage. He is expected to be the hottest hero in the upcoming meta, as he excels at clearing PvE bosses and fits easily into a wide variety of team compositions as the primary damage dealer.

Skill Upgrade Priority:

Prioritize upgrading Skill 4, Divine Martial Prowess, first, as it limits the amount of damage Flame God Zhou Yu can take.

Next, upgrade Skill 2, Jiangdong’s Young Commander, which increases the entire team’s Attack and HP at the start of battle. After that, upgrade Skill 1, Strategize Before Acting, and finally Skill 3, Exorcise Evil and Uphold Justice, which removes debuffs.

Strengths:

Flame God Zhou Yu is the perfect backline hero. He has extremely high damage, a talent that can deal damage across the entire battlefield, and strong survivability thanks to Skill 4, which limits damage taken from each attack to no more than 20% of his own HP.

Flame God Zhou Yu can work with many types of team compositions. He can be used in Sima Yi’s poison burst team, or paired with Xiahou Yuan and Lü Bu to unleash devastating all-map damage.

Weaknesses:

His damage relies heavily on his talent and is classified as Intelligence damage. He may struggle against highly durable tank teams, especially when the enemy uses strategists with strong Intelligence Damage Resistance.

Recommended Team:

Flame God Zhou Yu works best when paired with Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi.

Zhuge Liang will draw damage from the enemy’s UR Zhao Yun, while Sima Yi will clean up the battlefield after Flame God Zhou Yu deals massive damage to the entire enemy team.

The frontline can be customized with shield infantry heroes such as Cao Cao, A Dou, or Ling Tong.

Counters:

Dragon Soul Zhao Yun and Spirit-form Sun Ce can dive into the backline and hunt down Zhou Yu. However, Zhuge Liang can be used to deal with both of them.

Flame God Zhou Yu’s hardest counter is actually Jiang Wei, who can swap Zhou Yu into the frontline and eliminate him before he has a chance to deal damage. However, this requires correctly predicting the enemy formation’s positioning.

Another option is to fight poison with poison by using Flame God Zhou Yu against another Flame God Zhou Yu. The side with higher damage will have the advantage.
