A detailed guide to the pity system and how to guarantee your gacha pulls in Zenless Zone Zero.

Zenless Zone Zero differs in many ways from HoYoverse's previous titles, such as Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact. These changes include its art style, combat, setting, and core gameplay mechanics.

However, one thing has not changed: Zenless Zone Zero is still a gacha game. This means players will need to spend resources to pull on banners for a chance to obtain characters.

If you're wondering how the gacha system works in Zenless Zone Zero, let's take a detailed look with Playee.

How Does the Pity System Work in Zenless Zone Zero?

The pity system in Zenless Zone Zero works similarly to those in other gacha games. Simply put, pity is a mechanic that guarantees players a 4-star or 5-star character after a certain number of pulls. Here's how the pity system works in Zenless Zone Zero:

4-star: Guaranteed every 10 pulls.
5-star: Guaranteed every 90 pulls.

However, there is also soft pity for 5-star characters, meaning the chance of obtaining one increases significantly after the player passes 75 pulls. In most cases, this means players won't need to reach 90 pulls unless they are extremely unlucky.

Does Pity Reset After You Obtain a 5-Star Character?

Yes, pity resets after you obtain a 5-star character in Zenless Zone Zero. This means that if you're lucky enough to get a 5-star character after 30 pulls, your pity count will start over from zero.

Zenless Zone Zero Pity Rates

Zenless Zone Zero uses a 50/50 system for limited-time banners.

In other words, when you pull for a character on a limited-time banner, there is a 50% chance that the 5-star character you obtain will be the featured character. This also means that you may receive a standard 5-star character within your first 90 pulls.

However, if you receive a standard character, the pity system will guarantee that you get the featured 5-star character on your next 5-star pull. As long as you do not obtain the featured character, your guarantee will not be lost.

Zenless Zone Zero will also feature weapon banners with a similar 50/50 system. The only difference is that you are guaranteed a 5-star W-Engine within 80 pulls instead of 90, as with character banners.

This means soft pity for W-Engine banners begins at 65 pulls, rather than 75 pulls for character banners.

How to Guarantee a 5-Star Character in Zenless Zone Zero

There is no easy way to obtain a 5-star character in Zenless Zone Zero other than pulling on banners. If you make more than 75 pulls, you are guaranteed to receive a 5-star character.
