Zenless Zone Zero has been released, but there is no official macOS version. However, if you're using an M-series device, installing the game is fairly straightforward. Below is a detailed guide on how to play Zenless Zone Zero on macOS.

How to install Zenless Zone Zero on an M-series MacBook

Installing PlayCover:

Visit the PlayCover website.
Download the latest version.
Double-click the downloaded file and drag it into the Applications folder.
Open the security settings and allow PlayCover to run.
Use Spotlight (CMD+Space) to search for Security, then enable permission for PlayCover to run.
After downloading the Zenless Zone Zero IPA file, drag it into PlayCover or import it through the on-screen menu.
Wait for the installation to finish, then launch the game.

Zenless Zone Zero on PlayCover is essentially the iOS/iPadOS version of the game, optimized by MiHoYo for M-series Macs.

Common issues when playing Zenless Zone Zero on PlayCover

Zenless Zone Zero may crash unexpectedly and fail to restart after the app is closed. To fix this, you can add the app back to the launcher without losing any installed data.

Alternative method: Game Porting Toolkit & CrossOver

If you want a more PC-like experience, you can try Game Porting Toolkit. This method lets you install the launcher and check the game's stability on macOS.

CrossOver is another option, but it requires payment after the two-week trial period. CrossOver emulates a Windows environment on macOS, helping the game run more smoothly.

How to install Zenless Zone Zero through CrossOver

Download the Zenless Zone Zero installer from the website.
Install CrossOver and create a Windows 10 64-bit “bottle”.
In the CrossOver menu, enable "D3DMetal" and "MSync".
Once the installation is complete, restart the emulated system and start playing the game.
