Yanagi is a new Electric character released in Version 1.3. Shortly after her release, she created a real sensation in the Zenless Zone Zero community.

In this article, join Playee as we explore Yanagi, a new character with a unique combat style and powerful damage output thanks to the Disorder effect.

Yanagi Overview

Yanagi is designed as an Anomaly character with a kit capable of building Anomaly buildup and dealing high damage through the Disorder effect. Thanks to her Basic Attacks and constant stance switching, Yanagi can maintain Anomaly effects, deal damage, and synergize effectively with other characters.

Yanagi's Skills

Yanagi has two main types of attacks:

Basic Attack: Consists of five attacks, with the first two dealing Physical DMG and the remaining three dealing Electric DMG.
Special Attack: Activates the ability to switch between two stances—Jogen (blue) and Kagen (orange)—providing different buffs and making Yanagi more flexible in combat.

In addition, Yanagi has an EX Special Attack that puts her into a special state for 15 seconds, allowing her to skip the first two Basic Attacks and increasing Disorder DMG.

How to Use Yanagi

Constantly switch stances: Make sure to maintain both the Jogen and Kagen buffs to maximize damage.
Make the most of her EX Special Attack: After activating it, continue performing attack combos and maintain the Disorder effect to sustain the highest possible damage.
Recommended team: Use Yanagi alongside other Anomaly characters such as Burnice or Piper to maximize the Disorder effect and maintain consistent damage.

Drive Disc Build and Priority Stats

For Yanagi, choosing the right Drive Discs and stats is essential for optimizing her damage output:

Disc 4: Increase Anomaly Mastery.
Disc 5: Increase Electric DMG.
Disc 6: Increase Anomaly Buildup Rate. The most popular 4-piece set is Chaos Jazz, which provides 30 Anomaly Mastery and 15% Electric DMG.

Skill Upgrade Priority

Prioritize upgrading her Core Skill to maximize her damage buffs.
After that, focus on her EX Special Attack to increase damage through the Disorder effect.
Her Ultimate can be upgraded, but it is not a priority since it is used less frequently.

Best Teams for Yanagi

Anomaly Duo Carry: Use Yanagi alongside a primary Anomaly character such as Burnice or Piper.
Mono-Electric: If you want to focus on Electric DMG, you can pair her with support characters that increase Electric DMG.

Tips for Using Yanagi

Prioritize activating her EX Special Attack once enough Anomaly buildup has been accumulated to fully capitalize on Disorder DMG.
When facing enemies affected by Anomaly effects, try to maintain both the Jogen and Kagen effects to increase damage output and sustain the Disorder effect.
