Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), HoYoverse’s latest action RPG, is about to undergo a major overhaul with Version 1.4. According to leaked information, the Decibel system—which plays a crucial role in activating Ultimates—will be significantly reworked, bringing new strategic possibilities and having a considerable impact on the current meta.

Major change: Decibels are now individual instead of shared!

Previously, Decibels were a shared resource used by the entire team to activate their Ultimate skills. However, with the upcoming Version 1.4 update, Decibels will becalculated separately for each characterThis opens up new strategies, allowing players tobuild up multiple Ultimates from different charactersand unleash incredibly powerful damage “combos” that can turn the tide of battle.

Additional change: The amount of Decibels gained will depend on the type of enemy!

According to the reliable leaker Leifa, the amount of Decibels gained when triggering Attribute Anomaly and Disorder willvary depending on the type of enemy :

Common Enemies:35 Decibels (Anomaly) / 15 Decibels (Disorder)
Elite Enemies:125 Decibels (Anomaly) / 65 Decibels (Disorder)
Bosses:170 Decibels (Anomaly) / 85 Decibels (Disorder)

Previously, all enemy types granted the same amount of Decibels as bosses. This changesignificantly reduces the amount of Decibels gained from common enemies , which will have a substantial impact on player strategies.

Impact on characters:

This change will directly affect characters that rely on Anomaly, especially powerful Anomaly DPS characters such asYanagi. Previously, Yanagi could easily “farm” Decibels from common enemies to repeatedly activate her Ultimate. This strategy will now be less effective.

Miyabi , the new character set to debut in Version 1.4, is also expected to be a powerful Anomaly DPS. The Decibel changes will certainly affect how she is built and used.

Other upgrades and improvements:

In addition to the Decibel changes, Version 1.4 will also introduce numerous quality-of-life improvements:

Improved “TV Mode”:Players will control Eous directly during action sequences instead of navigating through mazes as before.
PS5 graphics upgrade:Ray tracing, HDR, and VRR support will deliver a more immersive visual experience.
