HoYoverse will completely replace the TV mode in Zenless Zone Zero starting with Version 1.2, following extensive negative feedback from players. The feature will no longer appear in the game's main story, although HoYoverse plans to reintroduce it in the future.

TV Mode Removed from Zenless Zone Zero 1.2

In Version 1.2 of Zenless Zone Zero, HoYoverse has decided to remove TV mode from the main story. This decision came after players complained that the feature was slow, disrupted battles, and appeared too frequently during the early stages of the game. HoYoverse announced the plan during a presentation and also committed to reconsidering the feature's use in the future.

With the release of Version 1.2 drawing near, players will get to experience plenty of new content alongside improvements to the overall gameplay experience. HoYoverse has released a 34-minute video explaining the major changes, including details about TV mode, also known as Monitor Array).

Issues with TV Mode

According to a Zenless Zone Zero game designer, TV mode had many issues at launch. Some of the main problems included:

Long Duration: TV mode slowed down the player experience and took too much time.
Battle Interruptions: The gameplay and combat mechanics were affected, disrupting the flow of the experience.
Appeared Too Frequently: During the early stages of the game, TV mode appeared far too often.
Slow Animations: The animations in TV mode lacked smoothness, making players feel uncomfortable.

HoYoverse addressed some of these issues in Version 1.1 and committed to continuing to improve the feature. In Version 1.2, players will be able to complete the main story without using TV mode, and the new story chapters in this version will not include the feature either.

The Future of TV Mode in Zenless Zone Zero

Although TV mode has been removed from Story Mode, HoYoverse has confirmed that it will not completely abandon the feature. The company will continue improving it based on ideas that previously received positive feedback from the community.

HoYoverse also improved the speed of TV mode in Version 1.1 and promised further improvements to its smoothness in the future. At the same time, the company introduced the mode Fairy Auto Explore in the Version 1.2 update, allowing players to send Fairy to collect rewards they missed in previously explored segments.
